Easter Pops!

My favorite time of year is just around the corner, spring! And along with it comes Easter.  I couldn't help but to get a head start on some Easter pops! I am so excited to try different colored ears as well from pink to blue to chocolate brown! Keep coming back to see what I am working on next! :)

Custom Order~Roses

I received a custom order for one dozen roses; six red and six purple for Valentine's Day of course.  I had made red roses before and knew other colors were possible but I loved the way the purple one's turned out! They look so good mixed in with the red ones.

Below is how they begin, the center of the roses.
Below is the modeling chocolate, the petals.

And the finished product!

I had so much fun creating these for a dear friend, I hope that her and her special recipient enjoy them!

More pictures of the finished product can be found on my Face Book page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Sweet-LifeAll-your-sweetest-treats/118678371558218

Kitchen Gadgets

Since I was young and started baking with my mom and grandmother; who both have a KitchenAid mixer, I have always dreamed of having one in my kitchen one day.  Well that day came last Christmas! I know sounds so long ago right? I really do not know how I managed to bake all this time without one! I absolutely LOVE mine.

I have some Valentine orders to get working on and when I pulled out my new KitchenAid mixer to make the cake it took me back to when I was just the helper in the kitchen and in complete awe and amazement of it all. Not only does the mixer just speed up the making of the cake or cookies or whatever you are mixing but I love the big bowl and how you have two hands free to measure things and dump ingredients in. I cannot wait to teach my kids to bake with my very own KitchenAid mixer one day. Is there one kitchen gadget that you couldn't live without?
