If you know me well at all you know that my favorite color is pink! I was beyond excited when I came across this super cute pink tote bag via Suzi Homemaker Custom Embroidery on facebook.
Isn't it just too cute? There is one pocket on the outside and 2 small pockets inside the bag. I love not only because it is pink and not too big nor too small but 100% of the sale of the bag is going towards the Avon 2-day walk that Suzi and some other ladies will be taking part in. Won't you stop by her facebook page and show her some love and check out all her other cute stuff? Let her know The Sweet Life sent you! :)
So, let me start off by saying that one of the things I want to work on better the rest of this year and even better in 2013 is updating my blog more often and gaining more fans....kind of goes hand in hand. I am attending Online BlogCon 2012 (online blog conference happening this month!) so I intend to learn LOTS of stuff and not only share it with you but incorporate it into my blog and business. :)
With that being said I have been busy in the kitchen and just have simply not found the time to show them off on the blog. What??? You say no time to show off yummy treats? I know I know I promise to get better about that. ;) So here is what I have been working on lately. :)
Up close shot of some CUTE faces! :)
Basket was found at Michaels, reusable in the baby's room!
I just love this stand from IKEA perfect for displaying flavors.
So have I made your mouth water enough yet that you want to order some yummy treats????? Remember Halloween is coming up and these are perfect for that! Also Breast Cancer Bites will only be made until October 17th as I have to turn in my money for the fundraiser by then. Head on over to the Etsy shop and order yours today! http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheSweetLifeCakePops?ref=si_shop

For those of you that follow my blog you know my passion is cake pops. When I started out my small business as I like to call it I had the awesome opportunity to intern for A to Zebra Celebrations which is owned by the fabulous Nancy Pfeifer who also owns My Party is Over. I had just started out blogging when the opportunity came up and I thought that it was a win win for me. I could learn from someone who has had a small business for awhile and help her out at the same time. I have been doing work for her ever since and have loved the opportunity and to see her grow.
While doing work for her she learned of my passion for cake pops and got in touch with the people at Heavenly Cake Pop Easy Roller and somehow...I am still unsure of how it all went down but am FOREVER grateful it did..scored me a Heavenly Cake Pop Easy Roller.

This all occurred while we were relocating to Charlotte, NC so it has not only taken me longer to be able to use it but longer for me to write this review and to HCP and Nancy, I am truly really sorry. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. And I really was expecting to be using it from the get go like the day after I got it however LIFE happened and well I had to take care of "other" things other than by business for awhile, to be honest I am still trying to find a good balance but I have it something working now so I will stick with it. :)
When I started out I used to hand roll each cake pop by hand, while time consuming this was the only way as a new business I could do this, I just could not afford to purchase a Heavenly Cake Pop Easy Roller but I must say I looked at many many many times. This device is so awesome! I can make a dozen order in no time with this roller. It has really cut down on my time in the kitchen rolling them out and given me more time to the FUN part which is decorating! It did take some time to learn how to use it properly. When you get the kit you not only get the roller itself but you have frame pieces as well. That was the trickiest part for me was figuring out the "thickness" of my dough and rolling it out in the frames. I must say that the Heavenly Cake pop people and the YouTube video below were a HUGE help!!
If you have large orders of cake pops or bites for that matter that you are doing then I would definitely invest in it! It is a HUGE HUGE time saver. They even sell other inserts to make other sizes and shapes. Stop by and check out their products you will NOT be disappointed!
A HUGE thank you to Heavenly Cake Pops for allowing Nancy to snag one of these to me and to none other than Nancy from A to Zebra Celebrations and My Party is Over for sticking her neck out for me and getting me this awesome roller!
Whew okay so my apologies as I have not been updating my blog as much as I should be, SHAME ON ME!! I promise I will be updating it today and tomorrow though so be sure to come back by. Now onto the real reason for this post.

So, if you are like me and fairly new to blogging and wanting tips from experts that have blogging for quite sometime but just don't have the funds to travel to a real live in person blogging conference I think you will LOVE the opportunity to attend an online blogging conference. While reading posts on Facebook I came across the information and thought why not? It is only $15 to register (WAY LESS than the ones I have looked at where I would have to travel) and all you have to have is computer and access online! Sounds like a win win to me for my first blogging conference. Sure it would be great to get out and meet face to face with some of these experts but lets face it the funds are just not there right now for that. So I am totally excited to give this a try! Want more information or want to register and join me online October 22-24 and many others? Head on over to, Online BlogCon 2012 and read more about it and then register. I am sure I will not regret this $15 investment and neither will you!
Yes that is correct you read correctly, you could win some delicious pops and other awesome prizes!! I am participating in a Giveaway over at The Grant Life this month, not only should you check that blog out (LOVE Kelley) but you should also enter to win great prizes and check out the other shops/websites that are participating as well! You can enter below for the giveaways then head on over to The Grant Life to show some love for hosting these giveaways and follow her too! :) Good Luck!~
So, if you have been following along you know I am participating in a 5K walk for Breast Cancer in October and already have wonderful tumblers for sale for the cause. Last night while I was in the kitchen completing a pop order for Friday I decided to go ahead and decorate some Breast Cancer pops.
I am going to be selling them for $12 a dozen plus shipping (UPS Ground, depends on your location) and $6 of that is going towards Breast Cancer. If you are interested in purchasing any you can head on over to my Etsy shop and snap some up that way or send me a message and I will create a sale for you in the Etsy shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheSweetLifeCakePops?ref=si_shop
Many of my friends and family that know me well know that I love to give back and that I love to participate in walks/runs for these awesome causes that give back. I am taking part in the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer 5K walk here in Charlotte on October 20th. I could not be more excited about doing this, I love the opportunity to do things for a great cause and this is one of the many that I love to support!
In the past I have walked for the general cause itself along with all the survivors and those lost to breast cancer however this year I have learned of a young woman in Colorado, through a friend of mine, who is in her second fight with breast cancer. While this is tragic in and of itself the other thing that makes this stand out is that she is very close to my age and has so much life ahead of her. She was the youngest case in Colorado when she was diagnosed the first time and this time it has sadly come back with a vengeance and will take all the strength and support she can get to beat this ugly thing they call cancer. So, I not only dedicate this walk to everyone diagnosed with cancer, those that have lost their battle and those that have beat breast cancer but I also walk for J.W. in Colorado this year.
If you would like to donate my fundraiser website is, http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=47518&pg=personal&px=30009634 I am also selling tumblers that have the breast cancer ribbon and you can have your name, initials, or the word survivor on it. The tumblers are selling for $16.90 (includes shipping) and $3 of the sales go towards my walk. Anyone can donate and or purchase the tumbler so please feel free to pass this along to other friends and family. I will be selling cake bites as well for the walk so stay tuned for those!
Below are some pictures of the tumbler you can purchase. If you are interested in the tumbler just leave me a comment with an e-mail address to receive an invoice and let me know if you want your name, initials or survivor on the cup. I will then get your information over to my friend who is making the tumblers for me and she will send you an invoice and the tumbler will be on its way to you! The tumblers are being made by Tootie Lou Designs and just love her stuff! If you have not checked out her stuff stop by her facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/#!/TootieLouDesigns and let her know I sent you. :)
Thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support my walks/runs that I do throughout the year and thank you in advance to anyone new supporting my fundraiser! Every little bit helps and means so much.
I have been debating and debating for quite awhile on whether to open and Etsy shop for my sweet treats or not. After much going back and forth I decided to take the plunge and open one! Hopefully this will allow other people who would not otherwise know about my sweet treats or get to try them. I only have a few things posted in the shop currently but am adding things as I go along.
If you have not seen my treats stop by and take a look and spread the word! :)
Wow it feels so good to be back in the kitchen creating my sweet treats. I have come up with a new great spring/summer flavor to add to the flavor list, pink lemonade! Doesn't that just sound refreshing? It is perfect for spring/summer because it is such a light flavor, not to mention pink. :)
